About Base

Base is building the foundation of American power. The grid is the largest, most complex machine in the world. Yet it’s aging, struggling to keep up with today’s demand, and is unprepared for our electrified future.

Base is modernizing the grid as the first engineering-led, technology-driven power company. We’re deploying a nationwide network of distributed batteries that strengthens critical infrastructure and saves Americans money.

Our team of engineers, operators, creatives, technicians, and electricians design and deploy systems at speed. If you want to tackle the problem that will define this century and shape the future of American energy, now is the time. Join us.

About the Role

We are seeking an operations expert to own some of Base’s most important workflows and design systems that are critical to helping us scale. In this role, you’ll be at the center of the systems that deliver energy to our customers, managing time-sensitive processes, solving problems before they escalate and ensuring our operations run smoothly every single day. Attention to detail, structured problem solving, and clear communication will be essential as you support both direct customers and large scale homebuilder deployments.

This is a highly cross functional role, requiring daily collaboration across Member Experience, Software, Growth and Deployments. You will help reduce single points of failure, increase efficiency, and directly shape how customers experience Base.

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical barriers that prevent members from using Base effectively

  • Anticipate challenges and design preventative solutions to reduce operational risk

  • Evaluate and optimize internal workflows to increase efficiency and scalability

  • Enhance and streamline internal tools, leveraging automation to reduce manual effort and improve service quality

  • Analyze data from multiple sources to uncover trends, provide actionable insights to support product optimization and business growth

  • Use data visualization tools to monitor product health and track success metrics

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Member Experience, Sales, and other stakeholders to align on goals, drive priorities forward, and ensure seamless execution on projects

What You’ll Bring

  • Process-driven and highly organized workstyle, able to handle ambiguity and manage multiple priorities without missing deadlines

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams and foster trusted partnerships

  • Proactive problem solving, anticipating challenges and building solutions that scale

  • Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly with a passion to find smarter ways to work

  • Clear and confident communication skills, able to translate complex processes into simple next steps

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer operations, account management, or a similar role, preferably in the energy sector

Preferred Skills

  • Direct experience in the competitive ERCOT retail market and an understanding of regulatory environment preferred

  • Experience managing customer accounts, implementing repeatable processes, and handling end-to-end workflows (i.e., enrollments, billing, payments)

  • Technical proficiency in SQL, comfort using CRM and billing software

Our Values

We’re building a winning culture and we’re looking for people who are up for the challenge. Here’s what we expect from day one:

  • In-Person Only: We work full-time in the office. No hybrid. No remote.

  • Challenge the Status Quo: Question assumptions. Fix broken systems. Principles > rules.

  • Move Fast: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble. Challenge ideas–including your own.

  • Own the Outcome: Take full responsibility. Deliver results. No excuses.

  • Act Like an Owner: Be resourceful, mindful of impact, and committed to the business.

  • Be Decisive: Drive clarity. Make bold calls with imperfect info.

  • Bring the Intensity: This is not a 9-to-5. We're building something hard which requires real commitment.
