Engineering Lead

Our dynamic and growing venture-backed virtual camera monitoring as a service company is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to join our team. We currently have 7 full-time engineers and are looking for an individual to lead all engineering functions and drive team OKRs.

Responsibilities

Own technology strategy and engaging in constant R&D and improvement by maintaining technology roadmaps and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Day-to-day management of the platform including the technology infrastructure, architecture, design, testing, implementation, and maintenance efforts with a focus on optimizing performance and scalability. Re-enforcing continuous intelligence and enabling innovation
Recruit, hire, develop, grow and inspire an incredible technology team, committed to developing innovative engineering solutions aligned with the company’s business model and vision.
Establish engineering processes for software development metrics, quantitative techniques and quality control. “Keeping the trains running on time” is a function of good project/organization management that includes transparency, holding people accountable, and finding solutions early.
Manage the software development life cycle including functional requirement analysis, design specifications, technical code review, project planning, and implementation of applications-systems. Work with engineering team to further develop core technology, including active participation in the design/architecture of new solutions, and the refinement of existing code.
Coordinate and prioritize between different team members to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
A minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
The expectation would be to be completely hands on, and an inspiration for members of the organization to look up to
Experience with Python, Kubernetes, React, Typescript, and edge deployments involving Linux.
Knowledge of software development best practices, such as Agile methodologies and DevOps.
A Leader who has a research bent of mind, with innovation in engineering being the key to their working style
Exceptional communicator.
Can speak to engineers and business folks
Can inspire a team
Can present to partners
Exceptional team builder. Understands how to identify, attract, and work with the absolute best.
Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work with a distributed remote team split between timezones.
An excellent understanding of large scale SaaS product, micro services
